Flores - Flowers

Todas las flores que verán en esta entrada están hechas enteramente a mano en porcelana flexible o en otros materiales o combinaciones, dependiendo del tamaño y la textura de la flor a reproducir. Cada detalle de la flor , las hojas y los tallos están hechos teniendo como modelo la flor real para así tratar de reproducirla de la manera más natural posible.Estas flores pueden durar indefinidamente si se las trata con el cuidado debido. La ventaja enorme sobre otros materiales es que éste, al mantener cierta flexibilidad, no resulta tan frágil y puede ser limpiado y hasta lavado sin temor de romperlo. Se debe recordar, sin embargo, que el lavado debe ser rápido. No se puede remojar el producto porque la prolongada exposición al agua si puede deteriorarlo. Luego del lavado, las flores deben colgarse para que se elimine toda el agua y quedan como nuevas!

All the flowers that you will see in this tab are entirely handmade in flexible porcelain, other materials, or a combination of them depending on the size and texture of the flower to be created. Every detail is made considering the real flower as a model in order to try to reproduce it in the most natural way possible.These flowers can last indefinitely if taken care of appropriately. The great advantage over other materials is that this, by maintaining certain flexibility, does not result to be as fragile as others and can be cleaned and even washed without the fear of breaking it. It must be remembered, however, that the washing has to be fast. The product can not be left in water since prolonged exposure to it can ruin the item. After washing the flowers, they must be hung so that all the water is eliminated. The flowers will look as if they were new!

CENTRO DE MESA DE ROSAS NARANJA

Este centro de mesa es uno de mis trabajos favoritos. La calidez que emana pueden dar un toque especial al ambiente en el que se lo coloque. Como siempre, el resultado final obtenido al emplear porcelana flexible  hace que las flores y hojas mantengan cierta flexibilidad y, por ende, sean más resistentes que trabajos hechos con materiales rígidos y quebradizos. Además, las flores tienen una transparencia natural al ser observadas a contra luz, lo que las hace lucir muy naturales.

Orange rose centerpiece

This centerpiece is one of my favorite works. The warmth it exudes can add a special touch to the room it is placed in. As always, the final result obtained by using flexible porcelain makes it possible for the flowers and leaves to keep certain flexibility and, therefore, be much more resistant than those made with rigid and brittle materials. Additionally, when observed through backlighting the flowers have a natural transparency, which makes them look very natural.

CENTRO DE MESA DE TULIPANES MORADOS ABIERTOS

El resultado obtenido en este centro de mesa me gusta mucho. Consiste en tulipanes morados en diferentes tonalidades con algunos tulipanes blancos para dar luz al arreglo. Los tulipanes están abiertos, de manera que se puede apreciar mucho mejor la transparencia del material cuando se observa el arreglo contra la luz. Como siempre, están hechos enteramente a mano en porcelana flexible. El follaje simula hojas de tulipanes y ramas de ficus repens. Es un arreglo grande, tiene 80 cm de largo y 40 cm de ancho en la parte central.

OPEN PURPLE TULIP CENTERPIECE

I really like the outcome I got in this centerpiece. It consists of tulips in different shades of purple and some white ones to provide the piece with a light effect. The tulips are open, which makes it possible to appreciate the material transparency when the arrangement is observed against light. As always, they are entirely hand made in flexible porcelain. The foliage simulates tulip leaves and ficus repens branches. It is a large flower arrangement - 80 cm long and 40 cm wide in the mid section.

Unos pequeños obsequios que hice para dos personas maravillosas que estaban emprendiendo una aventura única. Son rosas hechas a mano en porcelana flexible acompañadas por ramitas de flores blancas en el mismo material. Las bases en las que están colocadas son vainas de semillas de un árbol. Su forma semeja unos pequeños barcos de madera.

Bon Voyage!

These are small presents I made for two marvelous persons that were undertaking a unique adventure. They are roses handmade in flexible porcelain accompanied by little branches of white flowers made in the same material. The bases in which they are placed are seed pods from a tree. Their shape resembles that of a wooden boat.

Dalias :::  Dahlias

Las dalias son flores muy bellas que fácilmente pueden añadir un toque de elegancia y color a cualquier rincón. Estas dalias son mi trabajo más reciente y, al igual que todas mis flores, están enteramente hechas a mano en porcelana flexible. Debo confesar que el resultado me encanta!

Dahlias are very beautiful flowers that can easily add a touch of elegance and color to any corner. These dahlias are my most recent work and, just like all my flowers, they are entirely handmade in flexible porcelain. I must confess I love the result!

Tulipanes ::: Tulips

La misma amiga que me pidió hiciera los primeros tulipanes, que ahora adornan su casa, es la dueña de los que les muestro ahora.

Debido a que siempre estoy tratando de mejorar mi trabajo, buscando desarrollar nuevas técnicas y procedimientos, puedo claramente observar la evolución en los resultados obtenidos y, por ello, siento mucha satisfacción.

Las nervaduras de los pétalos y las hojas, la delicadeza del trabajo y la transparencia obtenida gracias a la porcelana flexible, hacen que estos tulipanes luzcan tan naturales que fácilmente podrían confundir a quien los observe.

The same friend who asked me to make the first tulips, which now adorn her house, is the owner of the ones I am showing you now.

Since I am always trying to improve my work, developing new techniques and procedures, I can clearly appreciate the evolution in the final results and feel lots of satisfaction because of this.

The ribbing in the petals and leaves, the delicacy of the work and the transparency obtained thanks to the flexible porcelain make it possible for these tulips to appear so natural that they could easily confuse whoever observes them.

En las siguientes fotos se puede apreciar la evolución a la que me refiero, ya que los tulipanes nuevos aparecen junto a los primeros que hice.

Magnolias blancas ::: White magnolias

Para la base de este elegante centro de mesa reciclé una pantalla de vidrio de una lámpara con papel reciclado y cáscaras de huevo. Como las magnolias tienen pétalos grandes, empleé una mezcla de diferentes masas de porcelana para que tuvieran cierta flexibilidad y mantuvieran su forma. La flexibilidad es importante pues hace que el arreglo sea enormemente duradero. Espero te guste el resultado.

For the vase of this elegant center piece I recycled a lamp glass screen with recycled paper and egg shells. Since magnolias have big petals, I used a mixture of diferent types of porcelain dough for the petals to have some flexibility and retain their  shape. Flexibility is important since it makes the arrangement to to be long lasting. I hope you like the result.

Magnolias rosadas ::: Pink magnolias

Cuando vi una magnolia por primera vez en mi vida, tomé fotos -que aun conservo- y quise reproducirla en porcelana. Cuando una amiga me pidió que hiciera un centro de mesa para una hermosa base de cristal que ella posee, inmediatamente sugerí magnolias porque son flores bellas, elegantes, muy decorativas, y nada comunes en Perú. Son flores muy simples, en apariencia, pero el centro de la flor presenta retos a quien quiera reproducirlo.  Este fue el resultado.

When I first saw a magnolia, I took pictures -that I still keep- and wanted to reproduce it in porcelain. When a friend asked me to make a flower arrangement for a nice cristal base she had. I inmediatelly suggested magnolias because they are beautiful, elegant, very decorative, and not at all common in Peru. Apparently, they are very simple, but the flower center presents challenges to those wanting to reproduce it. This was the result.

Rosas ::: Roses

Las rosas son una de las flores más populares por lo decorativas y delicadas que son. Elaboré estas rosas buscando que el resultado sea lo más natural posible. Además del trabajo en detalle de las flores, la elaboración de los tallos y hojas me tomó bastante tiempo y esfuerzo, pero estoy muy contenta con el resultado. Espero que ustedes sientan lo mismo.

Roses are one of the most popular flowers due to how decorative and delicate they are. I made these roses aiming at the most natural result possible. Besides the detail work on the flowers, the making of the stems and leaves took me a long time and effort, but I am really happy with the outcome. Hope you feel the same.

Girasoles ::: Sunflowers

Los girasoles son unas de las flores más decorativas. Hice este arreglo en una base, que también elaboré en cerámica y que es plana por la parte posterior. Esto permite que el arreglo se coloque en una pared.

Sunflowers are some of the most decorative flowers of all. I made this arrangement in a vase, which I also made in ceramics and which is flat at the back. This permits placing the arrangement on a wall.

Tulipanes ::: Tulips

Los tulipanes son unas flores que destacan no solo por su belleza y sus innumerables colores, sino por su increíble gracia y elegancia.

Tulips are outstanding flowers not only because of their beauty and their great number of colors, but also because of their incredible grace and elegance

Arreglo de Crisantemos Granate :::  Burgundy Crhysantemum Arrangement

 Este arreglo de crisantemos granate lo elaboré  para el recipiente metálico de una amiga. Los pétalos fueron trabajados uno por uno, lo que hizo que fuera un trabajo bastante laborioso. Sin embargo, creo que el resultado valió la pena.

I made this  chrysantemum arrangement for a friend´s metalic container. The petals were elaborated one by one, which made it really arduous work. However, I believe the outcome was worth it.

Yerbera ::: Gerbera daisy

Gracias a su sencillez, que esconde una belleza y delicadeza increíbles, la yerbera es una de mis flores favoritas.
